HEARTBREAK TIME !
It's Heartbreak Time, our hedgie friend has died
We rescued him and thought that he was safe
But now I sit here, Rufus too has cried
Like Tony, friend, at death of Maureen Rafe!
His little corpse I bury in the ground
The tears roll down, it seems to us unfair
We thought a friend in garden we had found
We cradled him whilst sitting in a chair
From pavement safe, we put him in his house
Some food to nibble, soon he's fast asleep
We hope he's safe from passing hungry mouse
He looked, to us, to have a slumber deep!
He's safe at last, he has a little grave
Great memories of him we warmly save!
